“Ruccya & Shalise, Into the Shadows: A Visual Exploration of Trauma and the Search for Love,”
a transformative art exhibition that delves into the pervasive impact of physical and sexual abuse on individuals’ lives and futures. Running from December 6–15, 2024, the exhibition officially opens with a special event on December 6, 2024, from 7 PM to 10 PM.
In addition to presenting compelling works by the two artists, this exhibition will also open fundraising efforts to support organizations aiding survivors of violence. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will be donated to these vital initiatives, furthering the mission of healing and change.
A Collaborative Exhibition to Raise Awareness
This powerful exhibition brings together the works of Ruccya and Shalise, two artists deeply committed to raising awareness about the hidden scars of abuse.
Featuring about 35 thought-provoking pieces, including photography, video expression, paintings, graphic works, and poetry, the exhibit provides a poignant exploration of trauma, resilience, and the human longing for connection.
RUCCYA
Silent Stories in Shadows.
Known for her Baroque-inspired, atmospheric photographic portraits, Olha Ruccya unveils the hidden impact of abuse through 15 evocative printed photographs and an emotionally resonant video expression. Her works delve into the silent suffering of those who have endured physical and sexual violence. All the models featured in the project, like Ruccya herself, have experienced violence, a shared pain that became the driving force behind her decision to create this deeply personal series. Through her evocative visual storytelling, Ruccya illuminates the enduring scars of trauma while celebrating the resilience and strength that arise from confronting it.
SHALISE
The Love Hotel—Patterns of Connection and Heartbreak
Shalise takes a raw and expressive approach, presenting a vivid mix of 30 pieces, including paintings, graphic works, and poetry, in her signature series, “The Love Hotel.” This deeply personal exploration of love and trauma examines how unresolved wounds perpetuate cycles of pain, distorting our relationships and connections. Through chaotic, dynamic visuals and poignant words, Shalise invites viewers to confront the illusions of love and take steps toward breaking free from these destructive patterns.
A Mission Beyond Art: Supporting Survivors of Violence
The heart of this exhibition is not just its art but its mission. “Ruccya & Shalise, Into the Shadows” is committed to sparking dialogue and empowering change.

To this end, the exhibition will support local and international organizations dedicated to helping survivors of violence. A portion of the proceeds from art sales will be donated directly to these organizations, amplifying the exhibition’s impact and providing tangible support to those in need.
A Call to Awareness and Transformation
“Ruccya & Shalise, Into the Shadows” is more than an art exhibition—it is a call to action. By raising awareness about the prevalence and lasting effects of abuse, the artists hope to inspire healing, resilience, and meaningful change. Together, they envision a future where these cycles of pain are broken, and new patterns of love and connection emerge.

Admission to the exhibition is free, and all are welcome to attend.
